A vintage car event reminiscent of one of the most famous post-war road races through the landscape of the Grand Duchy. Once Extraordinary Events, oversaw the creation of this highly anticipated edition, postponed for two years due to the pandemic.
From April 22nd to the 24th, over 50 crews from all over Italy joined the cultural tourism event promoted by CAMET (Club Auto Moto d’Epoca Toscano). Every year the scenario proposed to face the technical tests involved in the Tuscan Cup varies; for this edition, Once suggested the splendid setting of Versilia, as a tribute to the famous “roaring years”. Among the many classic car events, the re-enactment of the Coppa Toscana has conquered an important space in the search for new landscapes, flavors and experiences for the participants. The re-enactment is included in the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) calendar and has met with great success due to the importance of the competing cars and the care taken in organizing every detail.
The stages and vintage cars of the event
Forte dei Marmi, Colonnata, Carrara, Cittadella del Carnivale in Viareggio, are just a few of the stops touched by the splendid crews. Among the participating cars, “fuoriserie”, or custom-built, cars such as the elegant Lancia Aurelia, Coupé, Spider, and Flaminia. Along with the roaring Alfa Romeos, the Aston Martin celebrated by the first 007, the fascinating Jaguar XK and the E-Type (Diabolik’s car). Followed by the exclusive Mercedes cabriolets, the snappy English MG and Triumph, the aggressive Ferraris and Maseratis and, to complete the amarcord of those years, also the “everyday cars” such as the first Fiat 600 and 1100.
Beautiful prizes were raffled off by the sponsors and partners in this splendid initiative. The Cassetti trophies – a splendid niche vase produced in silver alloy – and for the first place winner, a unique bronze work symbolizing the Marzocco of Pietrasanta, made with the ancient “lost wax” technique created by the Fonderia d’ Art Massimo Del Chiaro.
