MYSTERIUM CRUCIS

An idea, that of Sergio Risaliti for Florence 2012, which surpasses all thoughts. In Florence the cross has symbolically represented the religious path of the Florentine population over the last 15 centuries.

Florence inaugurates the International Biennial of Cultural and Environmental Heritage. With the Mysterium Crucis, the wooden crucifixes of Donatello and Filippo Brunelleschi, together with the one sculpted by the young Michelangelo Buonarroti for Santo Spirito, were exhibited in the Baptistery of San Giovanni, in an exposition, as if to deepen the sacred sense of the display of these great works.
