Massimo Sestini’s photos from the State Police helicopters. The photographer, winner of the World Press Photo, on the occasion of taking the shots for the State Police, flying with Leonardo-Finmeccanica’s AgustaWestland AW139 and AB212 helicopters, immortalized the landscapes of Italy an hour after sunset or a hour before dawn. The evocative images bring together, in a horizon of light of infinite beauty, the wonders of Italy, a country unique in the world for variety and harmony. The project was born from the desire to make the vision of an Italy never seen before available to the general public, constituting a unique example on an international level.
The shots allow the visitor to discover the wonders of the Bel Paese ranging from the big cities to the centers of culture, from the coast to the Alps. After the success of the exhibition at the Quirinale Palace in Rome, the exhibition, inaugurated in 2016 by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella embarked on his international journey, touching the main cities of the world, starting his circuit in Moscow, at the MAMM Museum (Multimedia Art Museum). Thanks to the availability shown by the Italian Embassy in Moscow, to the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Police, carried out with the patronage of the Ministry of the Interior, the exhibition of Massimo Sestini’s photographs is curated by Once -Extraordinary Events, with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow and the contribution of Enit – National Tourism Agency, Pirelli, Leonardo, AO UniCredit Bank Russia and MacCoffee. Once Extraordinary Events took care of the staging and international circulation.
