The exhibition “Brixy – The Description of the World” represents a visual and conceptual journey through the work of artist Dietmar Brixy, a leading name in the contemporary scene. The German artist explores themes of perception, memory, and identity, offering the public a unique and profound view of the world around us.
The exhibition title refers to The Million, the work of the Venetian trader and traveler Marco Polo, whose 700th anniversary of his death occurs this year. The works on display are characterized by an intense use of color and form, where abstraction mixes and blends with figurative elements, creating a constant dialogue between reality and imagination. Each piece is a description of the world that invites us to reflect on our relationship with space, time, and the nature of reality itself.
Brixy’s use of a blend of traditional and innovative techniques and his experimentation with different materials creates compositions that challenge convention and invite the viewer to immerse themselves in a multisensory experience. The exhibition is not just a visual exploration but also an emotional and intellectual journey that stimulates curiosity and critical thinking.
“The Description of the World” is not a mere narrative but an invitation to look beyond the surface, to discover new perspectives, and to question what it truly means to describe our world. Through his works, Brixy shows us that the world is not only what we see but also what we perceive and imagine.
