AN ITALIAN GARDEN:
INAUGURAL EVENT OF THE 102nd EDITION OF PITTI UOMO

On the occasion of the 102nd edition of Pitti Uomo, the seventh of Florentine fashion, the Florence Center for Italian Fashion has designed, in collaboration with Once Extraordinary Events event organization agency, a wonderful Land Art project spread along Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Strozzi. A late Renaissance style green decor reimagined in a contemporary key, designed for the city itself and the many tourists who flock to the city in this period.

The project
A Florence as “green” as ever, in the name of sustainability and revival. Geometric shapes and small green spaces that recreate a microcosm where nature and architecture interact to amaze and enchant passers-by. The installation, which remained in use for the entire duration of the fashion week and was developed in collaboration with the Giorgio Tesi Group, a Pistoia nursery, included the creation of 60 flower beds made up of lemon, boxwood and natural lawn plants. The labyrinth in Piazza Strozzi, spread over an area of over 330sqm, was created entirely with Tuscan laurel plants.

A project that enhances the concept of eco-sustainability and the importance of the presence of greenery in our cities. The pots that make up the flowerbeds are made of 100% recycled plastic and all the greenery, at the end of the event, was returned to the natural spaces of Pistoia.
